Rug Corner Chewed on and Damaged by Dog - Mid Process
Once we cleaned this Afghan rug, we set to work on recreating the corner that had been bitten off by our client's hungry dog. First, we attached the rug to a small horizontal loom and slowly started recreating the missing warp. Next, we took care to extend the warp into the field of the rug so that the new warp (and the new fringe) would be a part of the rug itself, not merely an add on that could be simply ripped away. The photo above shows what the area looked like from the reverse side of the rug. The photos below show the same corner once we finished extending the new warp and starting knotting the missing pile. --www.traditionalrugrepair.com
