Persian Rug Fringe Repair

 

A Persian rug fringe repair is possible when the fringed end is only minimally damaged, but once the damage extends into the pile or the damage extends over a significant area, then a restoration may be advisable.  The photo above is a recent Persian rug fringe restoration that we did.  The white yarns are extended warp we integrated into the pile.  It is crucial that the warp is extended into the pile such that it becomes part of the rug itself and not just attached at the end.  The fringe protects the pile so it is important to protect the fringe as much as possible.  ---www.traditionalrugrepair.com
