Oriental Rug Fringe: When To Repair
I try to practice what I preach so this weekend I took extra time to examine all my rugs and kilims. I spotted the very beginning stage of a fringed edge that was coming undone. At this stage, I just need to rebind the fringe so that none of the pile gets compromised. If I do nothing, eventually the whole binding will come undone and the pile itself may start unknotting. A repair at this stage will take a couple of hours at most, but if we leave it untouched it may take a couple of days if not longer. Always best to address damage at its earliest stages! ---www.traditionalrugrepair.com
