Rug Corner Chewed On and Damaged by Dog - Still (!) in Progress

After we reconstructed the warp and fringe for this damaged Afghan rug, we started the reknotting process.  We matched the yarns and motifs so that the colors and designs would match the original rug as much as possible.  Reknotting a rug can be tricky because the pattern is not entirely visible because the yarns are long during the process.  Once we shear the yarns down, any mistake done in the reknotting will be visible, however.  We will share our final result of this restoration of a damaged corner of an Afghan rug in our next post. ---www.traditionalrugrepair.com
