Persian Rug Restoration of a Worn and Damaged Area - Mid Process

 

After professionally cleaning this lovely Persian rug, we cut out the worn and damaged fibers.  Next we reconstructed the warp and weft grid upon which we will reknot the damaged pile.  We aim to make the grid the same "tightness" as the original rug so that the restored area blends in as much as possible. In addition, we aim to match the yarns to the original colors of the rug as well.
