Water Damaged Oriental Rug Repair
Oriental rugs are remarkably durable, but can be severely damaged by sitting water. Such is the case with this rug that was damaged by a leaky air conditioning unit. Unfortunately, this Persian rug was so damaged by water that a professional cleaning will not be sufficient to remedy the problem. In this instance, we must cut out the damaged section, and rebuild the warp, weft, and pile. This will address the unsightly dark area, as well as eliminate the rotting fibers. As with all restorations, we will attempt to match the motifs and colors of the original yarns as much as possible. Special care around air conditioning units, plants, and leaky windows will go a a long way in avoiding similar damage. ---
